Construction cranes on the horizon is a sign that things are booming and no where is that more apparent than in downtown Guelph where The Tricar Group has not one, but two, downtown condo projects underway – River House and River Mill.
As River House Condominiums reached a huge milestone in the final construction phase, a two-week process began to dismantle and move the 18-storey building crane from Macdonell Street, to the River Mill site down the road on Wellington Street. It was perfect timing as River Mill now moves ahead into its full construction phase. For those of you who witnessed this process, it was quite an endeavor and interesting to observe.
Tricar is leading a resurgence in the renewal of downtown Guelph. With cranes at work daily, these luxury, high-rise residences will forever change the city’s skyline. They have been met by overwhelming public appeal, exceptionally strong sales and a stamp of approval from the municipality and the business community in Guelph.
Meanwhile, at the corner of Macdonell and Woolwich, Galt District Energy System will begin underground work and pipe installation for a central system that will provide thermal heating, hot water and air-conditioning to River Mill. In a progressive and environmentally responsible move by Tricar, it will mark the first residential building in Guelph to be heated and cooled by a shared energy network that will one day supply much of the city’s heating and cooling needs. River Mill will join the Sleeman Centre and River Run Centre which have already hooked in and will share energy through an underground network of pipes.
