The first owners at Tricar’s RiverHouse Condominiums are beginning to occupy their much-anticipated suites!

The Tricar Group is leading a resurgence in the renewal of downtown Guelph with the construction of not one, but two luxury high-rise condominiums.  RiverHouse is fully constructed with residents starting to occupy this week.  River Mill Condos, launched this past summer, is now 70% sold and currently under construction.  Buyers have spoken and confirm that these sister buildings provide all the comforts of home and community, plus the downtown conveniences that they have been seeking.

Customer approval came through loud and clear when Tricar was named the 2014 Tarion High-rise Builder of the Year. This coveted award recognizes builders for outstanding achievement in customer service. Tricar is the first southwestern Ontario builder to receive this coveted award which is based solely on customer feedback.

Grant and Lynda are fortunate to be snowbirds and even more fortunate to have discovered Tricar through projects in London and now their home-to-be at RiverHouse in Guelph. This should come as no surprise since Tricar’s experience in luxury high-rise condominium development in Southwestern Ontario reaches back three decades, earning many distinguished awards of excellence.

“When we saw an ad for RiverHouse we decided to check it out and we haven’t looked back,” says Grant.

“We were familiar with their London projects and were comfortable with Tricar. They made us feel even more comfortable with a meet and greet with the developer and other buyers. We didn’t want a retirement home,” says Grant, “so it was good to meet the residents—older and younger buyers. I’ve just completed my 122nd round of golf this year so I’m still on the go and wanted to be in a lifestyle-oriented building.” Enjoying early retirement will be even more pleasurable with their new suite that eliminates stairs, a growing concern for many.

Grant describes the sales staff as very attentive to their needs and very proud of the building, its design and its in-house features that include a health and fitness club, private terraces, courtyards, and dining areas sheltered by gazebos to enjoy the rooftop views to the sights of one of Canada’s prettiest cities. There is a billiards room alongside the residents’ bar and lounge, a media/theatre room with state-of-the-art sound system, and library and study warmed by a fireplace. Grant admits they could be torn about heading south next fall.

First-time home buyers Jaimi and Curtis are set to move into RiverHouse this week.  They selected the Glasgow, a popular two-bedroom + den suite design.  They were among many to buy a suite when RiverHouse opened for sale in 2012.  As commuters into Mississauga, they can’t wait to live only steps from the GO Station.

Both Curtis and Jaimi confirmed that they received ongoing support throughout the building phase of RiverHouse. Jaimi received photo updates on progress. She also noted that any time she had questions, and being a first-time home buyer “I had a million of them”, the sales staff were quick to answer and put her at ease.

A condo is perfect for us and this is so close to everything,” says Jaimi. “We don’t need a yard to look after. And the amenities are wonderful. There was no pressure. We found one we liked; it was affordable so we just bought it—on the first day!” They are looking forward to hosting friends in the media room and party room. And when Curtis’ parents visit from PEI, the guest suite will be a wonderful asset.

A big plus for Tricar is their ability to adapt to the needs of buyers in more ways than one. “They made changes to suit our needs but even more importantly,” says Curtis, “there was also flexibility in our closing date, so we won’t have to come back in the cold to move in. We appreciated that more than they know.”

RiverHouse is located at Macdonell and Woolwich.  Its sister building, River Mill, is now selling and fully under construction at Macdonell and Wellington. It’s a snapshot of classic and contemporary design with an 18-storey tower of 139 luxury condos and penthouses showcasing city and river views from all angles.  While River Mill is 70% sold, there is still a great selection of suites available
